Mercedes-BenzNot bad, but not great either. I have tried the Dolores Chicken quesadilla, and while it definitely was good, it was still quite bland compared to what one would expect. Maybe I wasn't lucky (the place was quite crowded) or there were simply other better options. But anyway, I will be coming back here as it does seem like there is so much worth trying, but there is still better elsewhere. On the plus side, the place is VERY vegan friendly. So if you're vegetarian or vegan, this place is for you.

Not impressed. Ordered ribeye medium rare and it was over cooked and tough. Caesar salad was overdressed. Bread had no flavor. Atmosphere and service were ok but there are tons of other places around to try -this one just missed the mark.

First impression: FRIENDLY staff greeted us (two adults and two grrrlz) at the door, and were warm and helpful throughout. Italian patrons, comfortable chairs and relaxing atmosphere. Location: Just across the Tiber from the Bocca della Verita and the Hercules Temple (or Keats' grave in the non Catholic Cemetery) in Trastevere area. The food: EXCELLENT delicious pizza and pasta served VERT HOT obviously right out of the oven, midday. My only regret is we didn't have with wine or cold beer, though with all the food and it being the afternoon I'd probably have turned into a Tourist Zombie. Maybe we'll go back another evening. Mercedes-BenzThe owners (Elena) and staff are wonderful and helped us to host a 20 person semi-private dinner for my husband's colleagues. The food was fabulous, everyone loved the jamones hanging from the ceiling of the basement and the Casa del Abuelo wines are also very good. No wonder this restaurant is in the tour books. We look forward to visiting again, and the dinner was a highlight of the multi day business meetings and was a relaxing night out.

This place has a lot of history, great garlic frieds shrimps and their own branded wine which is absolutely amazing. They have now opened a second stand up restaurant across the street providing more space and for those of you who would prefer to sit down, they have another restaurant located about 4 blocks away that is much larger where you can sit (However, it has nowhere near the atmosphere). Don't go to Madrid and miss this place, it is an institution as Scott V. mentioned and must be visited. If you dare visit McDonald's or KFC and skip over this place, you should be shot on the spot!

3.5 stars. Food is not bad, and the portion is OK. However, the atmosphere is really loud and crowded. It felt like I was eating in a market. The service was alright, it might be because it's really busy. There's a line. We waited a while to finally get in. We were quite unhappy about being waited for so long since people behind us got in earlier than we do, and they are also bigger parties. Overall, the food does not worth 4 star. It tastes good, but not like WOW kind of good.

Outstanding nachos and great beer in the heart of Amsterdam. They made me a happy goat. Of particular note was the excelling structural design of the nachos themselves, it looked like they were served in too small dish, but the whole thing just kept together somehow as i ate. Go forth and get thy nachos!

Mercedes-BenzSurely Yelp should have a "0 star" option, something reserved for only the most abominable of experiences....like when someone from your party needs to get up and physically fetch the server. Since I HAVE to give a star to post, I dedicate this singular star to the decor. Harbour club is visually stunning and continued to stun me the rest of the night but in a "taser" sort of way. Allow me to set the scene - 10 people celebrating the glorious 6-7 years one of the couples spent in Amsterdam. This was the last hurrah as they go on their next adventure! We showed up dressed to the nines, ready to celebrate to the degree that Visa might need to call to confirm the "unusual activity" on our card... We had a drink at the bar and eventually made it to our table. At the table sat the "menu" card. We had a very limited menu available because apparently this restaurant can't manage the order of 10 people off of the regular menu (had I known what would follow, I would have understood--even the simplest of tasks seemed impossible for this restaurant, like remembering to bring drinks). The issue here was that the seafood options were limited to a 2 person sharing platter, a whole lobster or a Tuna pasta. This was truly disappointing for some people - especially if you scoped out the menu earlier in the day and have your heart set on something! We sat at our table for about 15-20 minutes before our server even ACKNOWLEDGED us. We ordered a large sushi sharing platter which arrived probably 45 minutes later. I don't think in that whole time the server came by to check our drinks. I don't have any complaints about the sushi other than the fact that it took sooooooooo bloody long. It's FREAKING raw-no cooking required. Another 30-40 minutes of us being ignored by our server (I saw him literally look at us, do an about-face, and go the other direction numerous times) and our mains finally showed up, though not without incident. Sauces got dropped and luckily just got the bottom of some of the gentleman's trousers. My steak was completely unimpressive. It was under seasoned and cooked incorrectly. I didn't dare to send it back because I was too hungry to wait another hour for it to be returned to me. I just ate around the edges of what was supposed to be my medium, 150g steak and left the big chunk of raw, bleeding meat on the plate. The coleslaw was gross and NOT "American style" as they tout, and though the fries were ok, the sauce they come with is decidedly fishy. All in all, save for the company of the lovely people we were with, the dining experience itself was abysmal. There were sauces dropped on us, we were ignored and forced to go retrieve the server, we went thirsty, the list goes on. The bill was obviously quite large, but ironically, would have been a lot larger but more palatable had we received proper service. Don't waste your time and money at this place unless you are a masochist.

Mercedes-BenzIt quite sure how they managed to rake up so many 5 star reviews. We went there based on it and unfortunately it's one of the rare cases where a yelp review is not justified. Even though the staff was extremely friendly and pleasant the food couldn't hold up. The soup was tasteless, the ingredients tasted stale (not quite old yet but definitely not fresh. The food here is in such stark contrast to another Asian restaurant in this area namely Thai Isaan on Gumpendorferstrasse which consistently sets the benchmark for freshness and taste. If you don't mind the walk walk over to 6th district.

Reasons to dine at Ilustrado restaurant 1. Because who hasn't dined here? This restaurant is practically an institution. It's been around for 25 years already. 2. It's right inside Intramuros, Manila's most famous walled city. That alone is reason enough. 3. Being inside will take you back to the old Spanish era. This is the only place where you can let go of your indio roots and act like a proper mestizo/ mestiza. 4. Because this restaurant was made to impress, no other place boasts of the same beautiful surroundings. 5. There's so much to do after you dine. You can talk a walk inside Intramuros and pretend that the fat man in front of you is Padre Damaso. 6. The food. It's just delicious. You'll know once you've tried their Paella Illustrado. 7. The dessert- Sampaguita Ice cream. How can you not want to try such a creation? 8. Lastly, because you're a Filipino. Tama na muna ang burger at pizza puwede ba?
